Youth Counselor-in-Training (CIT)
OPMAD has great opportunities available for the ages of 15-17 years old!
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program offers a rewarding opportunity for high school students to work in the education and social services field. Engaging in this program enables them to gain invaluable experience, nurture their professional growth, and provide valuable support to PreK-8 students in Hartford schools.
If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a CIT, it is mandatory that you are available the following dates listed below:
- Orientation – week of June 26th – 30th
- Summer Dates- July 5th – July 28, 2023
If you are selected for either of the positions, you will be contacted directly by the CIT Coordinator.

Job positions that may be available include
- On-Site Coordinator
- Vendor – Professional that offers dance, music, chess, yoga, art, culture, karate, or hobbies you choose to share with the students.
- Class Instructor (Part-time, Hourly)
- Youth CIT
